Fine Arts Major in Music: minimum of 15 credit hours in Fine Arts courses including:
8 credits in Performance (band, orchestra, choir)
1 credit in the Fine Arts Connection course
2 credits in piano (or 2 semesters of private piano lessons)
2 credits in music theory
2 or more credits in any Fine Arts course, including music, art, drama,
dance, speech, creative writing, fashion design, (costuming), CAD lab
(scene design), or journalism (newspaper or yearbook).
Fine Arts Minor in Music: minimum of 11 credits in Fine Arts courses, including:
8 credits in Performance (band, orchestra, choir)
1 credit in Fine Arts Connection course
2 credits in Music Theory
Highly recommended courses: 1-2 credits in piano (or two semesters of
private piano lessons).*
*Any Music Major/Minor may test out of piano if they have studied piano previously and can pass a piano proficiency exam.
